John Symons & his late wife Kay (nee Jacobs), were Associate Field Workers in Kenya, Africa. John worked under Bishop Isaaka Wawire in Mbale, teaching in the East Africa School of Mission (EASM). He developed a Cross Cultural Ministries and Linguistics curriculum for the college, which he also taught. Later he worked in central Africa in Chad.

Dr. John Symons was a missionary in Africa for ten years, five years in French-speaking Africa and five years in English-speaking Africa. During this time, he was involved in the training of local Christians, and the development of a missionary training college. John provides pastoral ministry training through AXX Global which aims to provide biblically-based effective ministry training, and leadership programs that are trusted and accessible globally for pastors, leaders and disciples.
